Yes, when I was young I bit into a persimmon and quickly found the astringency. :)<br /><br />Oregon at one time had a test tea garden, but not sure what happened to it. We are mostly zone 8 and it should have worked. I think lack of labor also plays into it in the US. Does having 4 tea plants count me as a tea garden? Just kidding.
